Christmas Makeup!

Hi everyone! Merry Christmas and happy holidays!
Hope everyone is having a good break! Sorry for my lack of posts, I have been traveling and visiting family.
Here is a makeup look I did for Christmas day using my amazing Naked3 palette! I have been doing this look when I go out, and I am going to make some new looks with my Naked3 palette, stay tuned for the tutorials!!

First, I used a primer on my lid, I used Nyx eyeshadow primer.

Then I applied eyeshadows from Naked3 using the smaller brush tip provided with the palette.

1: Trick - sweep across the lid
2: Factory and Mugshot - Blending both of these I added them to the outer corner of the lid. With the bigger brush tip on the brush provided, I blended Trick and the darker shades to it was a smoother transition.
3: Nooner - I then took the smaller tip brush and brushed Nooner into the crease.
4: Strange - I used Strange as a highlighter, adding it to the tear duct and brow bone. I prefer using a highlighter pencil (I love this highlighter pencil I got from Ipsy called Chella and usually use that and blend it, but I decided to do my entire look using Naked3).

I then lined my upper lids using Maybelline Stiletto Liner in Black (tried doing a thin line and winged it out), lined my waterline on the lower lid using a CoverGirl eye pencil in Onyx Black, and lastly, covered my lashes using my favorite mascara, DiorShow Blackout in Blackest Black. This is my favorite mascara, and I need to buy a new one! Although it still coats my lashes pretty well!

Hope everyone's having a great day! I did some shopping on Super Savings Saturday (haha, everything was 50% off at the mall!) that I have to post about later (I bought a black "leather" jacket, some booties, shirts, jewelry, etc. for a bargain of a price!) when I have a chance to take pictures!
Let me know about your holiday looks!

xoxo Andrea

Holiday Nails

via Instagram December 15, 2013 at 03:12PM

Since I am off to Vegas tomorrow and then heading home for the holidays, I went and got my nails done! I got a french gel manicure with some glitter. I was originally going to just do french but since it is the holidays the glitter was added at no charge! And this should last me about 2-3 weeks! perfect for my time off! :)

Too excited! Holiday Makeup buys!

AH so I just had to update, upon seeing the email about the Naked3 palette and posting about it as a part of my "Christmas Wishlist," I actually went ahead and bought it! I got a good deal on it on!
As a beauty insider, I received an email for a $15 dollar reward gift card (use by Dec 15!), so I bought the pallet and using the code "Blitz" I was able to choose a Sample gift bag, that comes with 8 samples! I chose the "Cheery" bag as it has more samples that I think I would use! AND I was able to choose an additional 3 samples (mainly perfume, don't really like perfume samples but they're free!).
I had enough beauty insider points to get another free gift but I decided to save my points til the next level! OH and did I say I got free shipping?? So after taxes I spent a total of $41 on the Naked3 Palette and a bunch of free samples!! Such a great deal I think! Can't wait to get the palette and try it out! I will be posting makeup tutorials hopefully when I get it! :)

Here's my cart :)

Happy Holiday shopping :)

Happy December! Here's a total body workout!

So one of my friends asked me if I could write up a workout for her! I thought, why not post it for everyone else to see too? Here's a total body work out that you can split up on different days for different body parts or can do it all in one day! Make sure you rest and allow your body to recover in between exercises!

Disclaimer: I am not a dietician nor a personal trainer (although I want to be certified soon!) so do these at your own risk and know your limits! Always check with a physician before starting a new workout routine or diet!

If you don't know the exercises just look them up on youtube or just do google search for the name and there should be links
Lower body: 20 x squat - legs hip width distance apart, squat like you are going to sit in chair. make sure knees do not pass the front of your toes! 10 x lunge each leg 20 x plie squat 10 x pile squat one heel raised (repeat this on other heel raised) 20 x deadlift with weight (hamstrings) 20x jump lunge switch (do a lunge and then jump up and switch legs directly into lunge)

donkey kicks - do 16 on each leg, and also add pulses at the top after u have done 16 -- i would do 3 sets of 16

For all of these make sure you have the proper form -- for lunges and squats make sure your knee doesn't extend over your toes - make sure your knee is 90 degree angle with your shin, and your shin must be perpendicular to the floor (correct form is important to reduce impact on knees and prevent yourself from hurting your knees!!)

Upper body: Make sure you don't swing your arms, make sure you use weights that are the correct weight -- not too light but not too heavy. I would avoid 5 lbs and less - our purses weigh more than that, you can certainly lift more than that! I would start with 10 lb weights as a beginner (or even 7.5 lbs). You can work your way up to 15lbs or more as you get stronger! 16x bicep curl 16x hammer curl 16x "Arnolds" - bicep curl with shoulder raise/military press 16x military press 16x lift weights straight up in front of you to shoulder height with straight arms - works your shoulders! 16x tricep dips - just use a coffee table or something elevated! 16x tricep pushup (do as many as you can! these are hard!) 16 x regular pushup - start on ur knees

Back: These you can usually use heavier weights because your back muscles are a lot stronger - I would suggest using at least 10 lbs for this, 12 if you think you can. Usually you can use heavier weights than what you use for bicep curl 16x bent over row (you can pair this with deadlift if you want) 16x single row (bend over with one foot/knee on a bench and just do the row, switch to other hand.

With the lower body exercises you can always add weight to add more resistance and see more results. I saw that when I added weight to my squats (15 lbs in each hand) my glutes shaped up better than without weights! same with the lunges. The more weight you add the more definition you will see in your legs. But all of this comes with time so adding some weight isn't going to make you look like a body builder. Don't be scared to add 10-15 lb weights to any of these exercises!

Diet (by diet I mean what you eat!) is also a big thing, i was working out like crazy and not seeing any results, but once i started counting my calories/watching what i ate, i lost 15 lbs in like 6 months. You must fuel your body since you are working out, and cutting out food isn't going to help you lose weight, it will only make it worse! So make sure you are feeding your body. You can eat the same 2000 calories in healthy foods and you will feel a lot fuller than eating 2000 calories in fast food and other bad things!
In addition, I stopped drinking sugary drinks (this includes lattes! and alcoholic drinks), started eating lots of fruits when I wanted a snack, yogurt, cut out cheese for a while, and I started using Stevia as a sugar substitute (its like splenda but better for you). lots of lean protein, like chicken, salmon, or turkey, with brown rice and veggies are also good!
Good luck and let me know if you have any questions!

Black Friday style haul!

So here in America, the day after Thanksigiving is called Black Friday, where everyone goes shopping for awesome deals. Well, being a scientist, I had to go to work today to do some experiments, but I left relatively "early" for me, haha (6:30 pm is early for me!). So I walked around in Westwood to some stores and came home with goodies!
I stopped at Victoria's Secret and they were having an amazing sale! All of their perfumes (eau de parfum!!!) were on sale for 25$! I was able to buy these both -- Bombshell and Angel Dream, for 25 dollars each! They smell AMAZING. I bought Bombshell for my mom as a christmas gift, and Angel Dream for myself (couldn't help myself, the sale was too good...)
Bombshell is a blend of purple passionfruit, vanilla orchid, and shangri-la peony. It smells delicious and seductive.
Victoria's Secret Angel Dream is a blend of lace violet, iridescent currant and sheer sandalwood. It is breathtaking and lingers for a while! The bottle is cool too, it even has wings!
This sale is even going on online so check it out!
I also opened a Victoria's Secret Angels credit card so I got some 15 dollars off, so all in all I got these both for 35 dollars total! Such a great deal!

So after getting home with my seductive new perfumes, I arrived to a package at my doorstep from H&M. Ahh yes my online purchases have arrived, just in time for a black friday post!
I bought this cute dress online, it is a sheer pink with black lace trimming. It is very form fitting in a body con manner but not too tight (this is also a small! did i lose weight or is it just big??). It is also not too short, it comes down lower on the thigh closer to the knee! It's perfect for formal occasions. Best of all, how much was this dress? $9.95. WHAT? repeat that? $9.95. Amazing deal.

I also bought this less formal dress, with a sweet heart scoop neck, black and white polka dot, looked cute so I got it. It was cheap too ($12.95). again, it grazes the knees, so its perfect for work or a casual coffee or even dress it up with heels!

I also bought this lace bustier top ($5.95!) I bought a medium and it fits perfectly! It has sheer lace in the back as you can see on the side of the right picture. It is perfect with a high waisted skirt (pleated black skirt I bought a while ago from Topshop in the UK). I really like this outfit! It's so cute! Pair with heels its a perfect outfit to go out!

I also bought a sports bra for ten dollars and another lace top for 5 dollars. All in all my whole order came out to less than 50 dollars! And I got free shipping! AH who can pass up buying things?? H&M has some expensive things, but if you do your work on the website and search for the best deals, you can find some great things at a very low price!

My bills have been quite high and I need to pay my rent.... I shouldn't be spending money but I found all the best deals for my money!

Have you bought anything for Black Friday? Let me know in the comments below!
